Respecting the health and dignity of all human beings is a core religious value for all faith traditions. This respect includes not just access to health care, but time away from work to recuperate from illness, as well as to tend to ill family members. Yet over 200,000 Philadelphians cannot take a sick day without losing a day’s pay, or even possibly their job. When these workers face an illness in their household, they must choose between the jobs they need and the families they love.
Please join the Coalition for Healthy Families and Workplaces as they hold "Faith & Healing Services" on weekends in April. The Coalition will be happy to provide relevant worship aids, handouts, and action steps. Members are also available to speak at services.
