National Paid Sick Days

All workers and their families need paid sick days – time to visit a doctor, recover from illness, support a sick child or loved one without sacrificing their wages or their job.

As part of the Family Values @ Work network, we are one of many partners to have won paid sick days nationally. But we all know people who live in other cities and states where these policies are being blocked. We need our national representatives to pass a federal standard, the Healthy Families Act (HFA).

Here's what you can do:

TELL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE

Tell your representative in Congress to support paid sick days for America's workers by passing the Healthy Families Act (HFA) now! No worker should choose between taking a day or two to recover from an illness or losing a job they need to survive. It is unconscionable that workers who are the backbone of businesses and communities in our nation cannot take a single paid sick day to see a doctor, tend to a sick child, or to recover from a communicable disease.

POST A SELFIE FOR PAID SICK DAYS

Do you or a loved one have paid sick days? Tell Family Values @ Work why you need paid sick days for all of America’s workers. Download the photo card, write your message and send a photo (via emailtweet with hashtag #hfanow or post it on their Facebook page) with your card! Help raise awareness and pass HFA Now!
