Pictures of Coalition Members Speaking at the Earned Sick Time Press Conference

Carol Goertzel, President/CEO of PathWays PA, spoke at the press conference on HB 1830, the Healthy Families, Healthy Workplaces Act.  PathWays PA is one of the lead organizers of the
Coalition for Healthy Families and Workplaces.
Representative Marc Gergely, lead sponsor of the Healthy Families, Healthy Workplaces Act, took some time to discuss the need for the Act.  The bill currently has 19 cosponsors.
Kate Etherington, Senior Program Director of Philadelphia Physicians for Social Responsibility, also spoke at the press conference.  PSR represents a diverse membership of physicians, nurses, medical students, public health professionals, and other healthcare workers.
Rebecca Foley, Director of Education and Advocacy Initiatives at WOMEN'S WAY, shared critical information about the need for earned sick days.  In the United States, more than 22 million working women do not have access to
earned sick days.
Carol Tracy, Executive Director of the Women's Law Project, highlighted the need for earned sick days for survivors of domestic violence.  Victims of rape, physical assault, and stalking lose an estimated 8 million days of paid work due to intimate partner violence.
